Weather

Welcome everyone to the Megan Piercey 2023 Central Open. Weather permitting this should be our best tournament to date with the caliber of players and number of players at an all-time high.
Remember above all else have fun and maybe even win a tennis match or two.

Live Streaming of matches will be available during the tournament on select courts. Please consult the tournament website for streams, and the schedule for approximate times of matches.

All Doubles Matches: No Ad Scoring

Scoring: All doubles are no ad scoring with no exceptions allowed. This means at deuce the next point wins with receiving team selecting the side to serve to.

Scheduling

Schedule: Keep checking tournament website and use your ID to log in to keep up to date.

Food

Subway or pizza will be served noon and 5pm each day plus a special treat Saturday 5:30pm. Complimentary water, fruit and snacks are available all days and times.

Events and Rules

Singles: Ladies and Men's Open Draws

Best 2 out of 3 sets with regular scoring.
Tiebreaker to 7 tied 6-6 first 2 sets.
Set 3 is 1 tiebreaker to 10 and must win by 2 points.

Mercy Rule Men’s - In round of 64 and 32 if a player is up 5-0 in first set the match becomes first one to 8 wins superset .

All round 64 and round 32 losers in men's singles, who are not playing an aged based singles event, will enter into a consolation draw.

Any loss in first match go to consolation for ladies, and all all age based groupings go into a consolation draw.

Seniors and Age Group Men’s and Ladies (Mens O45 , Boys / Girls U18, Boys / Girls U16)

All other singles events single elimination one superset to 8 with tiebreaker to 10 at 7-7. If lose first match, enter into consolation draw.

Consolation Singles and Doubles B and C

Single elimination. One superset to 8 with tiebreaker to 10 at 7-7.

Doubles: Ladies, Men, and Mixed

Compass Format - First two matches will relegate you to A (2 wins) B (1 win 1 loss or C 2 losses)
A Division Scoring: Best 2 out of 3 sets first two matches - set 3 is a tiebreaker to 10 must win by 2 points
B and C Division Scoring: One set to 8 with tiebreaker to 10 win by 2 points at 7-7
